Livigno Ski Area
The Livigno ski area comprises two primary sections: Costaccia-Carosello 3000 on one side of the valley and Mottolino on the other, both easily reachable from the town. The terrain features 78 runs, with 30% classified as easy, 60% intermediate, and 10% for experts.
Beginner Skiing in Livigno
Livigno is a fantastic destination for beginners, offering a selection of gentle slopes and easy runs. The resort is known for its excellent snow quality, creating ideal conditions for those new to skiing. There are designated beginner zones at both the base and summit of the mountain, with Azzurra and Amerikan being the most popular choices. Once your confidence and skills improve on these nursery slopes, consider attempting the longer blue runs, such as San Rocco and Tagliede.
Intermediate Skiing in Livigno
With a significant portion of its runs designated for intermediate skiers, Livigno provides various challenges for those looking to hone their skills. The Costaccia-Carosello 3000 area is a highlight for intermediates, featuring a mix of blue and red runs. Keep in mind that, like many Italian resorts, Livigno’s difficulty ratings may be slightly more challenging than in other regions, so don’t be discouraged if you find some blue runs a bit tough.
Advanced Skiing in Livigno
Advanced skiers will find plenty to enjoy in Livigno, with a wide range of challenging terrain available. The Mottolino side of the valley is particularly appealing for this skill level, featuring a variety of black runs, including the steep Monte Neve and Camanel.
